The Why, Where and When of Adobe Sign in Education

We have already covered Adobe Sign in detail previously, including the extra features you get with a full Sign license compared to the basic e-sign functionality included within Acrobat and delving deeper into its legality and compliance. You can find these within the Blogs section of our website.

Now, we feel it is the right time to take a step back and consider why you would even need Adobe Sign in the first place, as well as looking at where and when our education customers have been making this journey to becoming paperless.

Why?

Adobe Sign is an electronic signature tool that enables you to streamline your processes to gain substantial time savings.

No longer will you have to wait days or even weeks for parents/guardians to sign and return permission slips, or for teachers to sign reports. All this can be done in a matter of minutes.

Sign also brings with it substantial cost savings.

By digitalising your document management, you can eliminate your current spending on paper, printing supplies, envelopes and postage fees. Looking at the bigger picture, you can even remove the costs of filing supplies such as folders and storage cabinets.

Our customers are finding these time and cost savings invaluable and are reinvesting these resources into what really matters – the high-quality education of their students.

Where?

There are many departments within educational institutions that typically rely on paper-based processes.

Areas, where Adobe Sign’s digitalisation and e-signatures can make a big positive impact, include offer letters, course enrolments, coursework assignments, grant requests, HR documents and many more.

However, the benefits of Adobe Sign are not restricted to a particular department or process. Sign bridges the gaps between departments and allows for easier, faster and more collaboration, bringing everybody together to achieve that common goal.

When?

A perfect example of Adobe Sign in use within education is at Royal Holloway, University of London’s School of Business and Management.

At Royal Holloway, Adobe Sign is used by the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) to enable clients to sign legally binding forms online.

Royal Holloway’s IT Support Analyst Julia Charlton explains, “Since Covid restrictions came in, Adobe Sign has been an essential part of the LAC workflow, and the help and advice from Pugh have been invaluable”.

Although many of our education customers initially purchased Adobe Sign during the Covid restrictions to allow them to continue to operate effectively and legally from home, we are now seeing a continued, long-term commitment to Adobe Sign as they begin to reap the time and cost-saving benefits.
