Project Overview
Wellington College wanted to modernise its learning environment and move away from traditional, fixed classroom layouts. The goal was to create a more collaborative, flexible, and engaging learning experience for both students and teachers - while reducing the operational burden on IT.
Our Approach
Working closely with the College’s IT leadership, Pugh supported a long-term transformation strategy built around standardisation, cloud services, and modern device management. Rather than a short-term refresh, the focus was on creating a scalable, futureready digital learning environment.
The Solution
Pugh supported the rollout of a standardised Microsoft-led platform across the College:
-
Microsoft Surface devices for all students and teaching staff.
-
Microsoft 365 tools including OneNote to support collaboration and digital learning.
-
Cloudbased identity and device management using Azure AD and Microsoft Intune.
-
Microsoft Autopilot to automate device setup, deployment, and ongoing management.
This approach replaced inflexible desktop PCs and an inconsistent BYOD model with a consistent, mobile, and easy to manage device experience.

The Result
We help education organisations move beyond individual devices to focus on the bigger picture. By combining deep Microsoft expertise with a consultative, long-term approach, we design learning environments that are easier to manage, better to teach in, and built to evolve with future needs. The result:
-
Flexible classrooms where students and teachers collaborate more naturally.
-
Faster, automated device setup – reduced from hours to minutes.
-
Significantly reduced IT workload and fewer support requests.
-
Secure, cloud-managed devices that work anywhere on or off campus.
-
A consistent learning experience for staff and students alike.
