Backup Suites
The
new CA ARCserve Backup Suites simplify your backup environment
by combining all the agents and options needed to backup
a particular type of server into a single suite enabling
organisations to reduce the complexity of procurement,
installing, managing and tracking software product licensing
keys. There are four (4) complete product suites under
the new simplified pricing model: File Server, e-Mail,
Database and Application.
Each suite contains greater technology and delivers a
complete backup solution and server protection according
to the individual server's data protection needs. |

CA
ARCserve Backup is designed to enable broad, scalable and high-performance
protection of critical business assets, across all leading applications,
hardware platforms and operating environments. In addition,
the solution offers numerous additional features that mean comprehensive
information protection for any enterprise.
- CA
Arcserve Backup and CA Xsoft WANSYNC Integration. Enables
users to browse and backup replicated data, restore data
to the master or replica server, create synthetic full backups,
view WANSync reports, and launch the WANSync GUI from within
the CA ARCserve GUI. The integration provides a “single
point of control” enabling IT administrators to manage
high-performance backup, continuous data protection (CDP),
replication, failover and disaster recovery (DR) testing
with point-and-click ease.
- Extensive
Application and Operating Environment Support. ARCserve
Backup supports robust agents designed specifically for
each leading application and environment, including Lotus
Domino, Microsoft Exchange Server (including Exchange 2007),
SharePoint, and SQL Server, SAP R/3, Sybase and many others.
The solution also supports document-level backup of Microsoft
Exchange, as well as Single Instance Storage (SIS) and Microsoft
Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
- Protection
for all leading server platforms. ARCserve Backup supports
Microsoft Windows (including Windows Vista), NetWare, various
Linux distributions, UNIX derivatives, IBM AS/400, Apple
MAC OS X and VMS. The solution also supports Microsoft Windows
2003 One Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR), for rapid, "bare
metal" restoration of Windows servers from tape drives.
- Extensive
device and media support. ARCserve Backup supports multiple
networkattached storage (NAS) and storage-area networks
(SAN) solutions, network interface cards (NICs), and write-once-read-many
(WORM) devices. It also integrates with off-site vaulting
services for comprehensive, integrated disaster recovery.
- Streamlined,
Consolidated, Administration. ARCserve backup includes
a powerful, yet straightforward administrative interface
that automates and centralizes many data protection tasks.
The interface also offers integrated anti-virus protection
and extensive reporting options, including real-time backup
and restoration statistics via email.
- Innovation
for Business benefit. ARCserve Backup enables bare metal
server recovery without requiring operating system reinstallation.
It also supports multiplexing and multistreaming features
for faster, more efficient backups, virtual machine sessions
and staged D2D2T backup for more rapid backup and restoration.
