AutoCAD Revit Structure Suite 2009

With AutoCAD® Revit® Structure Suite, you’ll also enjoy the competitive advantage of building information modelling (BIM) and automatically coordinated construction documents with the additional benefits of AutoCAD® and AutoCAD® Structural Detailing for steel and reinforced concrete details and drawings.

AutoCAD Revit Structure Suite 2009 includes AutoCAD 2009 and Revit Structure 2009 software products.

AutoCAD 2009 features Include:

AutoCAD® software lets you design, visualise and document your ideas clearly and efficiently. Autodesk redesigned the user interface of AutoCAD® 2009 software to accelerate tasks, allow commands to be easily found and help rapidly train new users.

  • Ribbon
With the ribbon interface, overall drafting productivity is increased as the number of steps to reach a command is decreased. The ribbon interface presents command options in a concise visual format, allowing you to quickly select commands based on the work you’re doing . Moving between applications is now quick and intuitive. The ribbon is both customisable and expandable so that it can be optimised for each user and meet each company’s standards.
  • ViewCube™ and SteeringWheels™
The ViewCube is an interactive tool used to rotate and orient any solid or surface model in AutoCAD. Selecting a face, edge or corner of the cube brings the model quickly to that predefined orientation. Clicking and holding the ViewCube allows the model to be freely rotated in any direction. Since the cube is in a fixed location on the screen, it provides at-a-glance orientation. The ViewCube will be introduced in all Autodesk products as a common tool for working with 3D models. In addition to allowing quick access to the orbit command, the new SteeringWheels tool allows quick access to the pan centre and zoom commands. The SteeringWheels is highly customisable so you can add walk through commands to help create and record a walk through of your model.
  • Menu Browser
Reviewing and working with several files is no longer a tedious and time-consuming process. The new menu browser interface allows you to browse files and examine thumbnail images and provides detailed information about file size and file creator. Plus you can organise recently used files by name, date or title.
  • Action Recorder
The new action recorder saves time and increases productivity by automating repetitive tasks without requiring the skill or assistance of a professional CAD manager. Users can quickly record a task, add text messages and requests for input, then quickly select and play back recorded files.
  • Layer Dialog
The new layer dialog makes creating and editing layer properties faster and less prone to error. Changes are instantly reflected in the drawing as they are made in the dialog. The manipulation of the dialog box has been simplified and columns in the dialog can be individually resized so the contents of that column or its title are not truncated. Individual columns can be fixed in place so that the rest of the columns can be scrolled through and referenced to a fixed column such as the layer name.
  • Quick Properties
The easily customisable quick properties menu increases productivity by reducing the steps to access properties information, ensuring that information presented is optimised for that particular user and project.
  • Quick View
The quick view feature uses thumbnails instead of file names, making opening the correct drawing file and layout faster and decreasing the time spent opening incorrect drawing files.
  • Autodesk Design Review
And, by using Autodesk® Design Review software, to electronically review, mark up and revise designs, you can give virtually anyone, anywhere the opportunity to participate in the review process.

Revit Structure 2009 features Include:

  • Single Model for Both Structural Analysis and Documentation - Revit® Structure combines a physical model of the building fully associated with an editable analytical model. The physical model is used for drawing production and coordination, and the analytical model is used by third-party structural analysis applications.
  • Bidirectional Associativity Between Model and Views - In Revit Structure, every 2D and 3D view, every drawing sheet, every detail, and every schedule is a direct presentation of information from the same underlying building database.
  • Construction Documents - Revit Structure automates the repetitive, manual drafting tasks required in conventional CAD systems. Cut sections and elevations, and call out detail views instantly. Reference sections, elevations, and details automatically in accordance to the sheet's numbers.
  • Structural Details - Create details from views of the 3D model with additional annotations, or from scratch with Revit Structure 2D drafting tools, or import them from conventional CAD files. To save time, import entire sheets of typical details in DWG format from previous projects.
  • DWG/DXF/DGN/IFC and CIS/2 Support - Revit Structure imports, exports, and links your data with industry-leading formats, including DWG™, DXF™, DGN, IFC, and CIS/2, so you can work with any consultant, client, or contractor data.
  • Bidirectional Links with Multiple Analysis Packages - The Revit Structure analytical model is bidirectionally linked with external structural analysis and design programs. Bidirectional linking means that analysis results accurately and automatically update your model if any member size has changed. And parametric change technology coordinates those updates everywhere in your project views and construction drawings.
  • Multiple Materials - Revit Structure includes building materials such as steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Parametric Structural Components - Revit Structure offers a full set of structural design tools such as walls, joist systems, beams, trusses, open web joists, precast concrete elements, concrete rebars, steel connections, anchors, metal decks details, and more. Parametric definitions allow quick revisions to any object type.
  • Multiuser Worksharing - Worksharing distributes the power of the parametric building modeling environment across the project team on the Revit platform. Multiple users can share the same intelligent building information model and save their work to one central file.
  • Interoperability with Revit Architecture and Revit MEP - Structural engineers, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) engineers, and architects can take full advantage of the Revit building information modeling platform and work more efficiently on the same shared database.
