LOCAL
FOOTBALL CLUB SCORES SPONSORSHIP
6th November 2003

A
local football club is celebrating, following
the news that it has scored a cash investment
from a Ceredigion-based software company and the
Sports Council for Wales.
Crannog
FC, Cardiganshire league division 1 side, has
sealed a deal with Pugh - the educational software
specialist based in Llanon. The deal has been
match funded by the Sports Council for Wales's
Sportsmatch Cymru scheme, resulting in a total
cash boost of £1,200.
The
club now plan to plough the cash into developing
and improving facilities, purchasing equipment
and improving the skill levels of club members,
players and also members of the local community.
Mike
Young, Sales Director of Pugh Computers, and treasurer
and player for Crannog FC said:
"Crannog
is committed to improving our youth and coaching
structure with the introduction of a new Under
16s side and the implementation of a coaching
development plan that will see Crannog FC become
a Football Association of Wales Trust Accredited
Club, which will be great for the club and the
development of its members."
Jeffrey
Pugh, Managing Director of Pugh Computers, enthused:
"By
being involved in the Sportsmatch Cymru scheme,
not only can we raise brand awareness, but it
also gives the business a real, hands on involvement
in a local community project in which a number
of Pugh staff are involved. This is good for the
development of Crannog FC and great for the personal
development of our staff!"
Sportsmatch
Cymru is an Assembly funded scheme, managed by
the Sports Council for Wales, which aims to encourage
businesses to invest in sport by offering the
incentive of £ for £ match funding.
