PUGH
CELEBRATES 25 YEARS

A
mail-order Computer firm, based in rural West
Wales is celebrating 25 years in business.
The
company specialises in software sales and licensing
and is one of the U.K's leading suppliers of software
to the education and voluntary sectors.
With
the focus and leadership strengths of founder
and Managing Director, Jeffrey Pugh, the company
has seen rapid expansion, now turning over in
excess of £13 million per annum and provides
employment for over 20 staff - an important contribution
to the local economy.
In
1981, Jeffrey saw the potential of setting up
in business to provide local companies with accounts'
consultancy and computer systems and services.
Very early on he saw the benefit of mail order
as a sound business platform. Negotiating his
first key agreement with RPS and the purchasing
consortia for universities, the link between software,
education and mail order was forged and the main
core of today's business was formed.
Jeffrey
recalls the time well "The large multinational
software companies did not believe that any company
operating out of remote West Wales could be successful
in the fast moving and competitive world of technology,
it took a lot of convincing on our part"
The
arrival of the internet and the unforeseen explosion
in internet technologies saw business
grow rapidly in software lines such as Adobe,
Macromedia and Microsoft. "Our strong market
position is due to our close working relationships
we have built with suppliers such as Adobe and
Microsoft."
The
company continues to look to the future and believes
that investing in new technology is vital. 2006
will see the launch of the company's new-look
database driven website providing customers with
e-procurement facilities. The new C.R.M. system
will also help monitor performance and better
understand the customers' needs.
