Here
is some more information about Curriculum Online and
e-Learning Credits:
What
is Curriculum Online?
Curriculum
Online is an initiative from the Department for Education
and Skills (DfES). The objective of this initiative
is to give teachers in England access to a wide range
of digital learning materials, which they can use to
support their teaching across the English national curriculum.
What
are eLearning Credits (eLCs)?
eLearning Credits are Standard funds supplied by the
Government that have been ringfenced for schools to
buy certified digital learning resources. A total of
£50 million of new funding for the 2002-03 academic
year, for all state maintained schools in England will
be available for e-LCs. Already, £30 million of
that has been released to schools starting on 7th November
2002 and can be spent directly with us.
Note:
Your first round of eLCs (distributed in November 2002)
must be spent by the end of August 2003. The second
round of eLC allocations are now available. A total
of £100million eLCs will be released to schools
during June 2003. This money will be distributed via
LEAs, and it appears as funding within the Standards
Fund: Grant 618.

Can
I spend eLearning credits with Pugh Computers?
Yes. Pugh Computers is a registered retailer for
curriculum online certified products. However, you can
only use eLearning credits to buy products that meet
the Curriculum Online criteria and are certified.
How
do I place an order using eLCs?
You do not need any special order codes or specific
order forms. Simply place the order and pay for it with
funding from Standards Fund Grant 618, which is your
eLC allocation. For products available under the eLC
scheme, we will require separate official orders stating
that they are to be paid using eLearning credits. Orders
can be placed with us by sending us the eLC order by
either fax on (01974) 202628 or by post to:
