VERITAS Replication Exec 3.1 box-image

Symantec Replication Exec 3.1

Symantec Replication Exec provides continuous remote office data protection while reducing costs and minimising IT workload. Replication Exec copies data from multiple remote offices over an IP connection, to a central location at the main office for consolidated backups. By centralising backups, it helps reduce costs by eliminating the need for backup hardware, media, and administration at the remote office – leading to significant cost savings.

Features Include

  • Backup Exec Integration - Administrators can monitor Replication Exec jobs from within the Backup Exec Console, increasing efficiency and simplifying administration.
  • Windows-Based GUI - Simple, intuitive interface has same look and feel as Backup Exec.
  • Wizard-Based Installation - Intuitive wizard quickly and easily walks users through the installation and process. Users can have Replication Exec up and running in minutes.
  • Push Deployment - Replication Exec can be push deployed to remote servers from a central console.
  • Centralised Management - Powerful Administrator Console enables users to create, install, manage, and monitor entire replication process from a single, central console.
  • Automated Replication - Once installed and set in place, Replication Exec will run entirely on its own, ensuring remote office data protection with minimal IT management.
  • Select Files to Replicate - Users may select which files to replicate, ensuring that network and storage resources are only used for business critical data.
  • Continuous or Scheduled Replication - Data can be replicated continuously, for up-to-the-second protection, or on a scheduled basis, to minimise network traffic during business hours.
  • Bandwidth Throttling - Users can allocate the maximum amount bandwidth used for a replication job.
  • Journaling through Network - Outages In the event of a network outage, journals track changes made to file following the outage. Once connectivity is restored, replication will resume right where it left off.
  • Replicates Only File Changes - When changes are made, only the changed data gets replicated, increasing efficiency and reducing network traffic.
  • Supports Variety of Replication Topologies - Support many-to-one, one-to-many, or one-to-one replication topologies.
  • Limitless Scalability - Supports a virtual limitless number of nodes replicating to a single Target server.
