Microsoft
Campus Agreement 3.4
Microsoft
Campus Agreement is an annual licensing programme created
specifically for further and higher education. Through
a flexible and simple format, it allows you to count
people instead of machines, making it easier for you
to licence and distribute software with significant
savings.
|
Microsoft
Campus Agreement 3.4:
- Minor
changes in the terms and conditions of the agreement to
reflect a more customer-focused agreement.
- The
addition of a number of products to the product offerings.
- Reformatting
of the contracts to improve ordering and processing for
customers, by making the contracts better match the format
and terminology used in our other volume licensing agreements.
- Removal
of a couple of products.
Features
Include:
-
Pay one annual licensing fee
- Get
the best value from your IT budget
- Count
people not machines
- Run
current versions of software
- Stay
legal - ensure that all machines are compliant
- Licence
students
How
it works
You
can licence a department or the entire institution. The agreement
is based on counting the number of staff employed over 200
hours per year (FTE's) and multiplying that by the number
of products you wish to use. This is your unit count and the
minimum count for eligibility for the agreement is 300 units.
Each product has a separate price and this is multiplied by
the number of FTE's to reach the cost for one year or multiplied
by three for the three year option. Departments can be combined
at the time of signing to reach the minimum level. If other
departments wish to join after signing, they will be required
to sign their own Campus agreement, or wait until the 12-month
agreement term is over and sign a joint agreement.
There
are two pricing levels:
- Level
A = 300 - 2999 unit count
- Level
B = 3000+ unit count
Institutions
can also licence students providing they have a faculty agreement
in place. Minimum unit count for eligibility is 300, and institutions
can choose to licence a specific number of students or the
entire population.
Microsoft
Campus Agreement allows you to run a selection of licensed
software for 12 or 36 months (depending on the term of agreement
selected) including all upgrades.
At the end of the agreement you have the following options:
-
Renew the agreement
- Exit
Campus agreement - remove software
- Exit
Campus agreement - buy software under Select
- Exit
Campus agreement - upgrade to a perpetual licence through
the "buy out" option
Term
of agreement
Microsoft
Campus Agreement can be signed for either a one or three year
term. If the agreement is signed for three years then on each
anniversary date you need to restate your staff count and
you may also add in extra products if you wish.
